Day 1
• Arrival at Muscat International Airport. You’ll be received by a Mark Tours representative
who’ll guide you and transfer you to the hotel.
• Check-in at 3 / 4 / 5 star hotel of your choice in Muscat (Please note the std. check-in time is 1400hrs)
• Day on own at leisure
Day 2
• Post breakfast, you’ll be picked from hotel in a 4WD – Land Cruiser for a full day Jebel Shams tour. Leave Muscat at 0830hrs & travel towards Nizwa. After reaching the region of Al Hamra we visit the scenic Wadi Ghul and stop at the old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian ruins. Drive along Wadi Nakhr for some scenic views. At the local village visit the local weavers and haggle for their colorful wares. Proceed to the mighty Jebel Shams, ‘Sun Mountain’, and Oman’s highest peak at a staggering 3000 meters. At the upper reaches of the mountain is the ‘Grand Canyon’, which provides breathtaking views down to its floor. Feel the cooler climate change on top of the Canyon. Be prepared for a little ‘summit shopping’ as the village children regularly set up stalls of various homemade handicrafts such as rugs, slippers and key rings made from local mountain goat wool. On descending, witness the amazing mountain sunset over Al Hamra, a perfect end to the day. On our way back, we will stop at Misfat Al Abrein, a picturesque village strapped on to the side of a mountain. As you walk around this beautiful, you will be moved by the simplicity and friendliness of the people.
