Day 1 • Arrival at Muscat International Airport. You’ll be received by a Mark Tours representative who’ll guide you and transfer you to the hotel. • Check-in at 3/ 4/ 5 star hotel of your choice in Muscat (Please note the std. check-in time is 1400hrs) • Day on own at leisure
Day 2 • Post breakfast, you’ll be picked from hotel for half day Muscat city orientation tour. The tour starts with a visit to the majestic Grand Mosque (Timings 0800-1100 daily, except Fridays; Dress code – Women should wear attire covering their arms and legs and should cover their head with scarf. Men should wear normal shirt and trousers) & then proceeds to the fish, fresh fruits and vegetable market at Muttrah. Feel free to mingle with the crowd. We drive past the old Muscat for a photo stop at the Sultan’s Palace flanked by the Portuguese forts Jalali and Mirani. Then visit Bait Al Zubair Museum for a fine display of Omani culture and history. • Evening will be shopping tour which will combine a mixture of old & new Muscat. We’ll visit the famous Muttrah Souq, Oman’s largest indoor market built in traditional style and then move on to other shopping centers like Sabco centre & the Muscat city center which boasts of having a range of international brands under one roof. Best buys for the evening would be exquisite silver jewellery, intricately hand-made ‘Khanjars’ (daggers), Omani Halwa, the world renowned Amouage perfume and other traditional handicrafts. • Return to Muscat & Overnight at hotel
Day 3 • Post breakfast, you’ll be picked from hotel for a full day sightseeing tour. First Visit the Nizwa Souq and fort. Nizwa is the ancient capital of Oman and is rich in culture and heritage. Then drive to Bahla to the huge loam fort which is under renovation at present. Bahla is also known as the pottery capital of Oman. Because of its cultural value, Bahla is placed in the UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. Next visit is Jabrin fort, where you will find one of the most magnificent forts of Oman with its painted ceiling, dungeons, and hidden packages. • Evening excursion to Al Hoota Cave. More than 200 million years old, it is the first tourist cave in the Gulf area. The cave is well decorated with beautiful stalagmite, stalactite and columns formation which is natural and also evolved over millions of years. Stairs, lightening system & artificial tunnel entrance are the only human touches to this cave. The 2.7km tunnel leads to an enormous subterranean chamber and large underground lake which is home to a rare species of blind fish. • Return to Muscat & Overnight at hotel
